Our History
JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER.
In 1986 God raised up in the Church a servant to “stand in the gap and make up a hedge before him for the land.” Apostle Charles Omuroka together with his beloved wife Pst.Jane Mmboga, accepted the call of the Lord to do the work of evangelist and teacher in the cause of revival in Western Kenya.
The two converged in a classroom at a school known as Nabongo Primary School in Kakamega town with a total of six people. Logos Celebration International Ministries was born. Today, 30 years down the line, by the grace of God, we’re not talking about a classroom but a cathedral and over 60 branches of Logos Celebration International Ministries in Kenya and outside, as can be seen in the pictures on this website. Do not despise the days of small beginnings. How true!
The Logos Celebration International Ministries represents the new stage in the growth of the church outreach of evangelism and spiritual awakening. Its base of operations is Kakamega, Kenya.
A hunger for the fullness of our Christian inheritance gave rise to this venture of faith. A growing number of men and women were catching the vision of God for the revival of the Church.
The ministry of the Logos Celebration International aims at promoting revival by two means: first, by emphasizing the ministry of the Word of God, evangelism and preaching the Gospel; secondly, by reaffirming the importance of the Holy Spirit in the spiritual growth of every believer.
The Logos Celebration International Ministries is a place where men and women come to be refreshed and renewed in body, soul and spirit. The basic message of salvation of the whole man is proclaimed. People of all ages come to draw inspiration and encouragement for their walk with Christ.
Many come with spiritual and emotional burdens and oppressions and are ministered to for personal salvation or healing, or deliverance from demonic oppresssion. Others come from distant areas of the country for counseling and spiritual direction. Everyone is helped to translate the truth of the written letter (Logos) into the truth of the quickening Spirit.
At LCIM we believe renewal is possible only when both clergy and laity come into a personal experience of rebirth in Christ through repentance and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. A face-to-face life-changing meeting with Jesus is part of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. Such a tangible spiritual awareness is consistently emphasized by Logos Celebration International Ministries.
